The Adventures of Doorknob Bob
The Adventures of Doorknob Bob is about a man who is afraid of doorknobs. This is a real phobia. I know, because this man is based on me. I will never forget the humiliating experience of going down to the local library and then standing by helplessly as a crowd formed around me, all of them waiting for me to open the door. I knew at that moment that I had to overcome my fear. I gathered up every ounce of courage I had inside of me, but I still could not touch the doorknob. It seems that doorknob phobia would be a pretty unlikely condition. But since printing this comic book I have been bombarded with letters from people across the country telling me that they too are afraid of doorknobs. If anything, I'm glad this comic let those people know that they aren't alone.
