Phillip's Head is my very first comic book. It was actually the final project for a class I took at Cal called, "The Graphic Novel as Literature."
This is also my first comic that was sold in stores. They almost didn't buy it because of the size (11"x17"). The buyer at the comic book store told me that the comic wouldn't even stand upright on the shelf unless I had a cardstock cover. I went to the copy store the next day... with a manilla folder cut into an 11 x 17 shape. After the fifth folder jammed the machine, I hastilly paid for my four copies and ran from the store never to be seen again. I managed to sell the four copies to Comic Relief at cost. I came back the next week and all four copies were gone! I've been making and selling comic books ever since.
